For many hormonal presentations, this is significantly more clinically useful than a single blood draw.

It measures oestradiol and progesterone across a full 28-day cycle, with testosterone assessed at day 11. This test measures cortisol output at four points across the day – morning, noon, afternoon, and evening – along with DHEA. It maps the full diurnal cortisol curve, which a single blood cortisol measurement cannot do. This test is particularly valuable for presentations involving adrenal fatigue, burnout, chronic stress, poor sleep, fatigue, and anxiety.
While not strictly a hormone test, the comprehensive stool analysis is frequently recommended alongside hormone testing because of the central role the gut microbiome plays in hormone metabolism. The estrobolome – the collection of gut bacteria responsible for oestrogen clearance – directly influences circulating oestrogen levels and is assessed as part of microbiome testing. Understanding the gut-hormone connection is often essential to effective hormonal treatment.
Thyroid function is assessed via blood testing and includes TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, and thyroid antibodies (TPO and TgAb). For saliva tests, a collection kit is shipped directly to your home. You collect samples according to the instructions provided – which for the comprehensive hormone panel involves simple saliva collections across 11 days of your cycle – and post the kit back to the laboratory using the prepaid envelope provided. Results are typically returned within two to three weeks and are reviewed thoroughly at your follow-up consultation, where your naturopath explains the findings in plain language and uses them to refine and personalise your treatment plan.
