Where did your interest in women and children’s health come from?
“As a mother myself, I see many women around me who are struggling with hormonal imbalances, particularly relating to pregnancy, motherhood, and even onto menopause. And due to the ever rising health challenges that we see our children facing, these women are often pushing their own health to the side”.
What kind of treatments do you use?
“I like to use a range of modalities such as herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, and nutritional supplementation. The use of iridology assessments, flower remedies, tissue salts, and celloids also give me extra flexibility in achieving desired outcomes. Every individual is unique. And each come with their own specific needs. That is why treating the WHOLE person and not just the ’symptom’ is so important for me. Considering each persons bio-individuality is without question in my eyes. I find it fascinating that each one of us responds differently to our nutritional and external environment. Treating patients in any other way is simple a waste of time!”
How do you know which treatments are best for each individual?
“Confidence is key for me. So with modern functional testing I am able to identify and address specific pathology without the guessing game. I also combine this with a thorough assessment of dietary, occupational, social, environmental and emotional factors that can have an impact on ones health. By having a well-rounded holistic approach, I am then able to develop a very specific treatment plan”.
Why is children’s health so important to you?
“I am absolutely so passionate about supporting children back to good health. My interest in children’s healthcare was sparked through my own personal experience. I was once told by a leading Melbourne children’s gastroenterologist, that my son would require medication for the rest of his life, and that nutritional and dietary changes would have no impact whatsoever. Three months later, and after making some pretty significant and comprehensive dietary and nutritional changes and lots of herbal medicine support, I was able to taper him off medication. Since then we have not seen a return of any of his symptoms…and that was five years ago! That is what really helped me decide to go on to complete my qualifications in Naturopathy, Herbal and Nutritional Medicine.
I continue to be in awe of children’s ability to naturally regain balance when given the correct support. I see this in clinic all the time. And I also have my own experience to prove it. I love to see children thrive and to see the difference in them when we are on the right track with treatment.
Motherhood can be challenging. Trust me, I get it. That is why it is my aim and purpose is to empower women to celebrate their innate strength, and support them in good health so that they may bring the best version of themselves to this often challenging role”.
