Are you a medical doctor?
No we are a team of qualified Australian naturopaths, we are not medical doctors. As naturopaths, we receive extensive training in clinical nutrition, herbal medicine (phytotherapy), and human anatomy and physiology. We specialise in clinically investigating underlying factors using breakthrough diagnostic testing in order to determine the cause of your imbalance, and tailor specific treatments for you. We take the time to listen to your circumstances and fully evaluate your health needs. We treat the WHOLE body system, not just individual symptoms.
Do you prescribe medications?
No we don't prescribe medications or make any recommendations on prescribed medications. We prescribe herbal medicines and nutritional supplements as required. We can work safely alongside your prescribed medications and are sure to avoid all herb-drug interactions.
Do you work with patients anywhere in Australia?
Yes we work with patients via zoom, google meet, or phone, Australia-wide. Book online via our website, and you will be sent a health questionnaire to complete, as well as a zoom link for your consultation. There is no need to download zoom if you don't have it yet. You will just click on the link to access your zoom call at your allocated time.

How many sessions will it take for me to regain health?
This really depends on a few different factors. We are committed to your success. Happy and healthy clients reflect well on our practice. The required time frame for regaining your health will depend on the complexity of your condition(s), the amount of time you have had the condition for, and your willingness to make changes to your diet and lifestyle. You should start to see some improvements within the first 3 weeks of treatment, however everyone is different and what works for one person may not be right for the next! Typically, we find most people don't need more than 4 sessions.
What is your cancellation policy?
The Naturopathic Co. is a busy clinic. If for some reason you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we require 12 hours notice; otherwise you will be billed for the missed appointment.
Do you provide Private Health Insurance Rebates?
As you may be aware, the Australian Government announced a wide-ranging package of reforms to private health insurance, and as part of these reforms, rules have been introduced to remove natural therapies from the definition of general treatment under section 121-10 of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007. Certain therapies will no longer be permitted to be covered under private health insurance, and unfortunately naturopathy is one of those therapies no longer covered in Australia from 1st April 2019.
From 1 April 2019 the following natural therapies were excluded from the definition of private health insurance general treatment and will no longer receive the private health insurance rebate as part of a general treatment policy: Alexander technique, Aromatherapy, Bowen therapy, Buteyko, Feldenkrais, Western herbalism, Homeopathy, Iridology, Kinesiology, Naturopathy, Pilates, Reflexology, Rolfing, Shiatsu, Tai chi, and Yoga.
Consumers will still be able to choose to access these natural therapies outside the private health insurance system.
What kind of testing can you perform?
We have access to a full range of functional testing. Examples of tests that may be recommended are Comprehensive Digestive Stool Analysis, SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) Breath Test, Food Sensitivities (IgG), Hormone Profile Test, Leaky Gut Test, Functional Liver Profile, Organic Acids Urine Test. There are a multitude of tests that can be accessed, depending on the health concern.
What should I expect at each appointment?
During the initial consult you will be asked a series of questions to expand on your Health Questionnaire paperwork that you emailed through prior to your appointment. A full health history will be taken, and we will identify if any functional testing may be required. Testing is not always required. We will cover some recommendations, and we will provide a comprehensive report outlining these recommendations.
Additional consultations will be determined by your progress. We would discuss results from functional pathology at a return consultation, as well as any changes you have noticed in your health.
Where does the functional testing take place?
We arrange most pathology testing Australia-wide through NutriPATH, and you are billed directly from NutriPATH for their services. Some tests can be completed at home and sent directly to the pathology lab, and for some tests you may need to visit a local pathology centre with your referral form. NutriPATH is partnered with collection centres Australia-wide.
